During your excursion on Etna you can admire splendid landscapes made of ancient craters, lava flows, almost lunar territory.
We will come to pick you up directly at the hotel or at the facility where you stay and together we will go to the Sapienza Refuge on the southern slope of Etna. We will make stops on the way to admire the most beautiful things of the volcano that perhaps you don't even expect to find. We will introduce you to the history of the volcano, its territory and we will see together the latest eruptions and the ancient Silvestri Craters of Etna.
Once at the Sapienza Refuge, at almost 2000 meters above sea level, you will choose whether to continue with us for a walk along one of the Paths of the Etna Regional Park, or whether to use the cable car service (cost not included) offered by the 'Etna up to 2500 meters above sea level. From there with 4x4 off-road buses you will arrive at 2900 meters to the Philosopher's Tower to admire the central crater, the South-East crater and the entire Etna landscape. Followed by the alpine guides, in total safety, you can visit the areas where the lava of the Volcano emerges.
We will then continue our excursion by visiting a volcanic cave equipped with helmets and torches. Upon returning from this wonderful day, we will make a stop in an organic production company for the tasting of honey and wines, oils and all other typical products of Etna.
At the end of the tasting, we will continue our excursion by visiting the Alcantara river, along small paths and along cultivated fields. Along the course of the river, we will meet the Gurne, natural pools with ponds and tumultuous waterfalls in the midst of beautiful vegetation, up to the ruins of the Francavilla Castle.
The excursion will end at the famous Gorges of the Alcantera River where we will admire the spectacular columnar basalts, lava formations created over the millennia that take extraordinary shapes and offer a unique landscape.
