During your excursion on Etna you can admire splendid landscapes made of ancient craters, lava flows, almost lunar territory.
The excursion takes place, favorable weather and volcano conditions.
We will come to pick you up directly at the hotel or at the facility where you stay and together we will go to the Sapienza Refuge on the southern slope of Etna. We will make stops on the way to admire the most beautiful things of the volcano that perhaps you don't even expect to find. We will introduce you to the history of the volcano, its territory and we will see together the latest eruptions and the ancient Silvestri Craters of Etna.
Once at the Sapienza refuge, at almost 2000 meters above sea level, with the cable cars of the Etna cableway we will go up to 2500 meters above sea level. From there with 4x4 off-road buses we will move towards 2900 meters to the Philosopher's Tower from where, accompanied by expert alpine / volcanological guides, we will continue up to an altitude of 3,300 meters.
From the roof of the highest volcano in Europe you can admire the active craters of Etna and their spectacular majesty (Bocca Nuova, Voragine, Southeast Crater and Northeast Crater). During the descent on foot we will visit the places and craters protagonists of the most recent eruptions of Etna. At an altitude of 2,500 meters, we will resume the cable car service to return to the starting point.
