Etna Basic Tour

Departure from Recanati 8.00 am
Departure from Taormina 8.30 am
Departure from Letojanni 8.45 am
Return at around 4.30 pm

1. Departure by bus accompanied by a guide and arrival at the Rifugio Sapienza.
2. Stop with the possibility of soft trekking and visit the lava flows and Silvestri craters. Optional lunch.
3. * Optional trip by cable car up to 2,500 metres and onwards by off-road vehicle to the summit crater zone at approximately 2,800 metres with the assistance of authorised CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) mountain guides.
4. Stop to admire the activity of the summit craters in the safety zone. Heavy clothing and suitable shoes are recommended.

5. The special rate for the Etna excursion, including ascent, is only valid with advance booking.
6. Purchasing the ascent on board the bus will be at an additional cost.
7. Ascents to Mount Etna’s authorised crater zone are always escorted by Italian Alpine Club guides, who are responsible for the safety of travellers and subject to the decisions of the authorities in relation to the daily changes in volcanic activity that affect the altitude reached.
