Castellammare del Golfo

Castellammare was born as Emporium Segestanorum (port of nearby Segesta) and, until the arrival of the Arabs, its history is identified with that of the Elymian city.
Castellammare becomes an important fortress of the Normans first, of the Swabians then.
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the town continues to expand, having the port as its center of economic development.
Today Castellamare del Golfo is an important tourist destination in the province of Trapani and offers beautiful panoramas and beautiful beaches.
